FIVE LINES FOR RE-COMPOUNDING of PCR

In the last 6 months ICMA has successfully completed four installations, with a fifth due to come shortly, of recycling lines dedicated to re-compounding of post-consumer plastic waste, all equipped with high-performance co-rotating twin-screw extruders model ICMA MCM 110 and MCM 140 High Torque.

Drive solutions for the textile industry

Designed to save energy during the mechanical recycling process, the TEGO® Cycle portfolio of additives also enhances the quality of polymers, enabling the transition of the plastics value chain into a ‘value cycle.

New melt index testers save time

With the MFi5 and MFi7, Instron presents a new generation of melt index testers for a wide range of tasks, from monitoring incoming materials to product development and process control. The compact, manually operated MFi5 is ideal for fast and reliable measurements thanks to preset methods, while the modular MFi7 can be flexibly adapted to accommodate an increasing volume of testing. Both are suitable for test temperatures from 50 °C to 450 °C and are equipped with test weights from 0.1 to 21.6 kg. A piston travel transducer resolution of 0.005 mm and a piston displacement accuracy of up to 0.02 mm enable particularly accurate measurements. They thus cover the entire range of requirements for standard melt index tests in accordance with ISO 1133 and ASTM D1238, Methods A, B and C. Each System is operated via a 7" capacitive color touchscreen.

Pioneering Technologies of Battery Compounds

At this year’s Battery Show Europe (23-25 May, Messe Stuttgart/Germany), Coperion and Coperion K-Tron will present their effective total solutions for continuous manufacturing of battery materials. At Booth 10-C45 in Hall 10, visitors can learn about the advantages of this efficient manufacturing process using twin screw extrusion. Solutions from Coperion and Coperion K-Tron span the entire process of anode and cathode slurry production, from intake, conveying and preparation of the active materials, to feeding and mixing in the extruder, to material handling of the finished masses to further processing. Every step in Coperion’s entire system is synchronized with every other one. Plant design, development and realization of the entire system with a complete containment concept come from a single source.
