New tank construction material with PE100 RC
With Polystone® G CubX®, Röchling Engineering Plastics SE & Co. KG of Haren, Germany, has now developed the first variant of its tank construction sheet Polystone® CubX® with cover sheets made of PE100 RC. This is Röchling's response to the request of many customers for a variant having covers made of polyethylene. Polystone® G CubX® has been developed especially for applications, in which PE has to be used as a tank material because of aggressive chemicals, or where connecting pipes, installed equipment or entire plant components have to be made of PE.

With its various digital systems and solutions, such as the intelligent ReDiS remote maintenance system and Basic Line Monitoring, the Dortmund engineering company ensures that production processes are efficient. Customers also benefit from fast, uncomplicated technical support through KHS’ Augmented Reality Service and 24/7 Service HelpDesk.
Delta Tecnic, which specialises in the production and distribution of colour concentrates and raw materials for plastics, cables, inks, paints and cosmetics, reinforces its commitment to the automotive industry through Micromasterbatch, a type of masterbatch with a smaller pellet size that improves dilution when extruding cables. The company is thus enhancing its innovative role in the industry.

Machine protection during PVC granulation
Corporacion de Industrias Plasticas S.A. CIPSA, is one of the 500 largest companies in Peru and one of the top five companies in the country‘s plastics industry. CIPSA began its activities in 1960 with the aim of offering a range of plastic products made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Mandatory deposit on containers in Germany
The Bundesrat (upper house of German parliament) recently voted in favor of extending the mandatory deposit on containers to cover all non-returnable plastic bottles and beverage cans. This is good news for the protection of the environment. For besides yielding a higher quota of returns, a high recycling rate has a positive impact on the ecobalance of beverage packaging. Implementing this would present a lot of juice producers with a number of challenges, however. Their problem is that owing to the composition of their materials most plastic bottles filled with sensitive products such as juice cannot be collected by type and recycled to make new bottles. Barrier technologies already established on the market provide an answer here; these protect the liquid food from gas exchange with the help of a wafer-thin layer of chemically pure glass. Dortmund manufacturer of filling and packaging systems KHS is a pioneer in this field. Since 2002 the corporate group has provided a glass coating technology that enables full bottle-to-bottle recycling under the name of FreshSafe PET®.

Both companies trade in machinery and equipment for the plastics processing industry and represent long-established manufacturers in this segment.
German plastics and rubber
As expected, in 2019 the soaring rise in turnover of the past years has come to a halt: German plastics and rubber machinery manufacturers had to resign themselves to a turnover fall of 6 per cent. "However, after 11 years of growth this break did not come as a surprise for the industry," Ulrich Reifenhäuser, Chairman of the VDMA trade association Plastics and Rubber Machinery, puts it in a nutshell. "In many major customer industries, above all the automotive sector, signs suggested investment restraint, something that had already become clear for a while when looking at the order books. Moreover, there is the image problem of plastics," Reiferhäuser adds.
