Whichever responses you look at, all the statements about the new 470 H hybrid Allrounders are very positive. Gerhard Böhm, Managing Director Sales and Service at Arburg, puts it in a nutshell: "Our plans with this interesting machine technology were clearly confirmed by the visitors to the Anniversary Days, showing that we have succeeded in tapping into contemporary trends and concerns. What we are offering people with our milestone machine is exactly what they want and need in their production. The hybrid Allrounder 470 H machines save energy, conserve resources, and are efficient in production, user-friendly and reliable at the same time. This generates a high level of acceptance among our users. And again, that's exactly what we intended."
Energy and production-efficient hybrid machine
Compared to a similar hydraulic machine, the energy footprint of the new Allrounder 470 H is up to 50 per cent better, and depending on the application, up to 12,000 kilograms of CO2 can be saved each year. The new oil management concept helps further conserve resources, as it requires around 35 per cent less oil. Machine waste heat is used to preheat the oil. In addition, the required cooling water capacity is also between 50 and 70 per cent lower. This is supplemented by flow splitting for simultaneous movements of hydraulic secondary axes and the extended use of the Arburg servo hydraulic system. A reduction in the dry cycle time of up to 33 per cent results in significantly greater production efficiency.
The most important results of the survey
The fact that the vast majority of respondents see the new hybrid machines as the perfect alternative to hydraulic and also electric injection moulding machines is confirmed impressively by the outstanding survey results. For 96 per cent, the new Allrounder 470 H machines are a suitable replacement for hydraulic machines, while 95 per cent see them as a suitable replacement for electric machines. 96 per cent of respondents consider the anniversary Allrounders to be attractive machines. No less than 85 per cent of them were immediately convinced that the new hybrid Allrounders would suit their respective operational application spectrum, and 92 per cent agreed that the price/performance ratio was very good. Whether the Allrounder 470 H was also interesting for their companies was spontaneously answered by 83 per cent with "Yes".
The combination does the trick
In detailed discussions with many customers during the Anniversary Days in Lossburg, Gerhard Böhm learned about another important criterion for the successful launch of the milestone machines: "On the one hand, the combination of electric clamping unit and hydraulic injection unit significantly reduces the acquisition and operating costs as well as the carbon footprint; on the other hand, most users are already familiar with the hydraulic injection unit and also feel comfortable with it." In addition, the practical grading in the performance variants "Comfort", "Premium" and "Ultimate", as well as the different sizes of the injection units and the numerous options available allow the new Allrounder 470 H to be precisely adapted to the respective customer requirements. As Gerhard Böhm summarises: "The market is currently demanding precisely the technology that we can offer with our new hybrid Allrounders. This means that we can look to the future with optimism." The milestone machine marks the start of a completely new generation of machines from Arburg – particularly interesting for customers who are looking for an energy-saving and economical alternative to hydraulic or electric machines, but at the same time want to benefit from the proven advantages of both worlds.
