K 2025: MOCOM presents innovative material solutions with added value

From October 8 to 15, MOCOM will showcase its comprehensive product portfolio at K 2025 in Dusseldorf. The spotlight will be on materials for lighting, lightweight construction and sustainable applications. At Hall 6, Booth A62, visitors will discover innovative and sustainable thermoplastic compounds from the brands Alcom, Altech, Alfater, Tedur, Wic, Wiplast and Wipaflex. These products provide flexible and sustainable solutions for the automotive, electrical & electronics (E&E), sports and leisure, transportation industries as well as for many other sectors.

“At K 2025, we will once again present ourselves as a partner for true added value,” says Stefan Fuhlendorf, Vice President Global Sales and Business Development at MOCOM. “We look forward to meaningful discussions with our visitors, who will have the opportunity to learn more about our innovative, sustainable products that consistently deliver high quality.”

Söhnke Müller, Vice President Global Product Management & Product Innovation at MOCOM, adds: “With our innovative product developments and customized compound solutions, we demonstrate our expertise in the fields of lighting, lightweight construction and sustainability.”

The company is committed to driving a more sustainable plastics processing industry and is aiming to offer sustainable alternatives for each of its brands. Product highlights the compounder and recycling specialist will be presenting at K 2025 are:

Flame-retardant PP compounds for demanding applications
MOCOM will present a new generation of Altech PP flame-retardant compounds at the K trade fair. These materials achieve a UL94 V0 classification at 1.5 mm and are free of halogens, red phosphorus and do not contain PFAS. They are designed for applications where electrical corrosion poses a risk. Typical uses include automotive battery-adjacent components such as covers and battery management systems. With this product line, MOCOM is following the growing trend of increasing polypropylene use in vehicle manufacturing. This supports the recyclability of vehicles and contributes to the implementation of sustainable material strategies. Therefore, variants based on recycled raw materials (PIR and/or PCR) are also available.

Impact-modified, glass fiber-reinforced high-performance plastics
With Tedur GF IM, MOCOM introduces two new types that combine the outstanding properties of conventional PPS with enhanced impact and notched impact strength, making them well suited for particularly demanding applications. These newly developed compounds with glass fiber (GF) and impact modifier (IM) represent an economically and technically attractive alternative to PPA compounds.

Biopolymer-based materials for lighting applications
Alcom LD BIO HTC and Alcom LG BIO HTC are biopolymer-based materials designed specifically for demanding lighting applications such as light guides, bezels and decorative elements in automotive interiors, while also meeting requirements for exterior use. These sustainable compounds stand out with their high technical performance and optical quality.

Sustainable TPO solutions
Wipleast and Wipaflex are sustainable TPO solutions based on high-quality PP+EPDM raw materials recycled in-house at MOCOM. They offer an excellent cost-performance ratio, good impact resistance and a high CO₂ savings potential. These properties make them ideal for typical automotive applications such as wheel arch liners as well as high-value applications in other industries including sports, leisure and E&E.

Friction-optimized compounds for mechanically stressed parts
PFAS-free Alcom WP materials deliver excellent tribological properties, high mechanical strength and reliable performance in demanding applications ranging from automotive to consumer goods. Their PFAS-free formulation supports compliance with upcoming regulatory requirements and contributes to the reduction of environmentally critical substances.

With more than 50 years of experience and expertise in compounding thermoplastic polymers, MOCOM tailors solutions to the specific needs of diverse markets. At K 2025 in Dusseldorf, MOCOM will be exhibiting together with its sister companies ALBIS and KRAHN Chemie in Hall 6, Booth A62.
