Fascinating insights into practice

For the first time, Arburg hosted a meeting of the VDI Expert Committee of the VDI Society of Materials Engineering (VDI-Gesellschaft Materials Engineering) in Lossburg on 11 April 2024. Sharing new and unconventional methods is the aim of the expert group, which has set itself the task of bridging the gap between methods, research, and the application of these methods in industry. At Arburg, the method used for non-destructive testing of materials and components is an industrial computer tomograph.

The Allrounder Golden Electric Evo series, which is celebrating its premiere at Chinaplas 2024, is fully tailored to Asia. The electric machines combine the "Made by Arburg" quality seal known throughout the global market with unbeatable value for money and short delivery times, making the purchase of an Arburg machine easy, quick and cost effective for Asian customers. In action at the trade fair in Shanghai will be an Allrounder 470 E Golden Electric Evo, demonstrating a sophisticated LSR application automated with a Flexlift 10 linear robotic system, also specially designed for Asia.

Allrounder 1600 T

The combination of rotary table machine and automated parts handling produces a high-end application that is extremely attractive for many industries. At Chinaplas 2024, a turnkey system based around an Allrounder 1600 T will attract the attention of interested parties from the mobility sector in particular. An upstream stamping unit with conveyor system is integrated in the production cell. Parts handling is performed by a six-axis robotic system.

Allrounder More

A perfect example for the efficient production of high-quality plastic parts using injection moulding is a turnkey system based around an Allrounder More 2000. With the "two-component eyeglasses" application, Arburg (stand W 3743) will be demonstrating at NPE 2024 its renowned wide-ranging expertise in multi-component injection moulding, LSR processing, automation and networked production. Exciting for trade visitors: At the partner stands of Kistler (W3321), Shin-Etsu (S26055) and Adler (S31151), further components will be manufactured so that the eyeglasses can be supplemented with temples, lanyard and case.

Arburg: European premiere in Poland

For four days, it is the Polish place to be if you have anything to do with plastics. Kielce, located roughly halfway between Warsaw and Krakow, is hosting the 28th Plastpol from 21 to 24 May 2024. Arburg will be taking part again in 2024 – and how! For the first time in Europe, the company will be presenting its latest “treasure” to trade visitors, the Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric, just a few days after its world premiere at NPE in Orlando, Florida.

IML application for medical technology

While in-mould labelling (IML) is standard for packaging products, this process is still rarely used in the medical industry. Using a centrifuge tube plus label made of PP mono-material as an example, Arburg will be presenting a sustainable IML application with high repetition accuracy and added value for the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries at NPE 2024. The ready-to-use product is manufactured in a fast, space-saving and cost-efficient way using a turnkey system centred around an electric Allrounder, without any additional hygiene risks.

Hybrid Allrounder 520 H

Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric

In an unprecedented move, for the first time a new machine from Arburg is celebrating its world premiere not in Germany, but on the international stage. The new Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric with a clamping force of 2,800 kN extends the product range of the electric series of the same name upwards and is the highlight at NPE 2024 in Orlando, Florida, USA. Streamlined in terms of installation area and price – this summarises its main advantages. The new injection moulding machine continues to stand out for its electric precision and process stability and offers high component quality with low investment costs and short delivery times.

Focus on mobility and automation

At Chinaplas, which takes place from 23 to 26 April 2024, Arburg will present itself as a comprehensive technology and system partner for the efficient production of plastic parts. At stand D 42 in hall 4.1, the focus will be on applications for the automotive and medical industries. Three Allrounder exhibits will demonstrate the fully automatic overmoulding of inserts, the processing of liquid silicone (LSR) and the production of sophisticated medical components. In addition to injection moulding technology, Arburg will showcase additive manufacturing and automation and offer trade visitors comprehensive and individual advice in the interactive arburgSOLUTIONworld exhibition area.

Digitalisation in manufacturing is picking up speed

On 22 and 23 November 2023, Arburg hosted its renowned event dedicated to the Arburg host computer system ALS, extending over two days for the first time. A total of around 170 participants came to Lossburg. The "Digitalisation Info Day" was aimed specifically at anyone interested in entering the world of digital injection moulding production. On the second day, the ALS experts shared the experiences they had using the host computer system in their production processes and applications. In addition to specialist presentations by Arburg, ALS customers and partners, there was ample opportunity to experience the wide range of digital products and services from Arburg and its partners first-hand and to find out more about the innovations, potential and added value of ALS. The participants also made good use of the opportunity to network.

The programme included informative and in-depth lectures by historian Dr Sabine Kob and Arburg archivist Katharina Depner as well as an engaging panel discussion. This fascinating topic attracted around 60 employees and the two Arburg Managing Partners Juliane Hehl and Renate Keinath to the "Frauen@Arburg" network event at the company headquarters in Lossburg on 24 October 2023.

Energy-efficient injection moulding

The MSV International Engineering Fair in Brno, Czechia, is considered the most important industry exhibition in East-Central Europe. From 10 to 13 October 2023, Arburg will be there in Hall G1, Stand 28, with its usual mix of innovative and future-oriented exhibits. An Allrounder 470 H will be producing "grab and go" products live, in the form of 0.5-litre beer mugs made of PC. Sophisticated automation will be demonstrated by a Kuka six-axis robot that the turnkey experts from Arburg Czechia have programmed to assemble a model Allrounder fully automatically.

LK injection moulding machines come to Europe

On the occasion of this year's KUTENO Kunststofftechnik Nord (plastics exhibition in North-ern Germany) and in time for K 2022, Andreas Bexte, Bexte Kunststoff-Technik -BKT-, Es-sen, presents details of the cooperation agreement with LK IMM Europe s.r.l., Trav-agliato (BS), Italy. According to this agreement – signed at the beginning of April 2022 – Bexte Kunststoff-Technik - BKT- will distribute injection moulding machines (IMM for short) of the Chinese brand LK Machinery in the German market. BKT will also take care of the commissioning and follow-up services such as technical support, training, maintenance, wear and spare parts supply for the machines manufactured in Ningbo and Zhongshan. The IMMs destined for the European market are characterised by a maximum of process-relevant measuring and control technology from Germany and its neighbouring countries. Consequently, the user can rely on the control technology of the renowned Austrian brand KEBA. German hydraulic pump technology ensures high efficiency and accuracy. Remote maintenance is carried out via KePlast EasyNet 4.
