Chicken meat sausage in innovative packaging
Sustainably produced meat products in sustainable packaging: The new product line of the poultry sausage brand Gutfried by the Zur Mühlen Gruppe (Gutfried) is not only "organic", its packaging is also sustainable and was produced using recycled plastic. This innovative plastic packaging has now been presented by the participating companies Zur Mühlen Gruppe (Gutfried), BASF, SABIC and SÜDPACK. The special thing: Around two-thirds of the raw materials used for the packaging come from plastic waste, which is thus reconverted into valuable raw materials. In this way, the collaboration partners want to make a contribution to reducing waste volumes and conserving valuable resources.
Packaging concepts for minced meat
- A new look for a kitchen classic from the refrigerated section: SÜDPACK is launching two innovative packaging concepts for minced meat that do without bottom trays. What is more, the two concepts are mono-material packaging solutions based on polypropylene (PP). They stand out for their excellent recyclability and significantly lower material consumption compared to standard packaging, which makes these solutions especially resource-saving, while also scoring in terms of sustainability at the point of sale.
Accolades for pioneering packaging
Maximum product protection and high convenience combined with outstanding recyclability: Multipeel PurePP film packaging from SÜDPACK meets all three requirements – and thus provides genuine benefits for people and the environment. For this future-oriented product, SÜDPACK has been awarded the PackTheFuture Award in the "Save Food" category. The prize is jointly awarded by ELIPSO, the French association for plastic and flexible packaging, and Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e.V., the German industry association for plastic packaging.
The current SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19-pandemic has underscored it once again: protecting sensitive, vital products remains the key contribution that packaging solutions make to sustainability. Damaged, spoiled or even contaminated food and medical products are harmful for both human beings and the environment. With their packaging solutions, film manufacturers like SÜDPACK Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG are making a system-relevant and sustainable contribution to ensuring a safe supply for the population – and that not just during the current “corona crisis.”
SÜDPACK’s Multi SV Skin is now cyclos-certified
Packaging solutions with certified recyclability help food and drink producers satisfy relevant legal requirements. SÜDPACK Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG has now received a certificate of recyclability from the Institute cyclos-HTP for its packaging film concept, combining a Skin Multi SV top film (150 µm) and base film Ecoterm VP (250 µm). Accordingly, SÜDPACK customers can now take advantage of a combined top foil / base foil skin packaging concept with confirmed high recyclability.
