Borealis and Reclay Group: strategic partnership
Borealis, one of the world’s leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and a European market leader in base chemicals and fertilizers, and the Reclay Group, international experts in environmental and material recovery management, announce that they have joined forces to satisfy increasing market demand for the supply of recyclate material for use in high-end plastic applications. This unique partnership will optimise the recycling value chain starting with Germany, one of the largest European recycling markets. The partnership further accelerates the transition to plastics circularity by enabling customers and other value chain partners to meet their own sustainability targets.
Borealis acquires packaging innovator Bockatech
Borealis, one of the world’s leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and a European market leader in base chemicals and fertilizers, announces that it has acquired a minority stake in Limited, a UK-based growth-stage green tech business and inventor of the innovative EcoCore ® manufacturing technology platform for sustainable packaging. The investment deepens the existing partnership between the two companies and underscores Borealis’ commitment to plastics circularity. Polyolefin to a lower carbon energy future
Borealis announces an important milestone in its efforts to facilitate a more sustainable energy future. The high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable compound based on Borealis Borlink™ technology is being used in crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) power cables qualified for the tender of the “German corridor projects“. This enormous undertaking will transport renewable energy from wind farms off the north coast of Germany to southern areas of the country. Borealis Borlink is a crucial component in XLPE high-voltage power cables enabling HVDC technology transmitting electricity over longer distances with minimal losses. What is more, the material XLPE offers the additional sustainability benefit of being recyclable.
