Training Arburg company history

Those who know more about the history of their company are also more emotionally connected to it, and this year Arburg is celebrating 75 years of training. Two good reasons for the machine manufacturer's first "History Week" in Lossburg. From 5 to 11 December 2024, the new trainees and students delved deep into the company archive during workshops and experienced Arburg's history in an active and multimedia way.

Industrial 3D printing

At Fakuma 2024, Arburg (Hall A3, Stand 3101) is showcasing two exhibits used for industrial additive manufacturing. The focus will be on applications that are of particular interest to injection moulding customers. A Freeformer 750-3X with a high temperature design will process original plastic granules into functional components in hard-soft combinations. The TiQ 2 filament printer will demonstrate how equipment and robot grippers are 3D printed.

Allrounder 370 A: z wtryskiem papieru

Podczas targów Fakuma 2024 firma Arburg (hala A3, stoisko 3101) zaprezentuje, w jaki sposób można niezawodnie przetwarzać tzw. „perełki papierowe” na standardowych maszynach Allrounder zamiast konwencjonalnych granulatów z tworzyw sztucznych. Innowacyjny proces formowania wtryskowego otwiera drogę do nowych zastosowań i produktów na bazie włókien papierowych w szerokiej gamie branż, w tym w przemyśle meblarskim. Eksponat, elektryczna maszyna Allrounder 370 A, będzie na przykład produkować narzędzia pozycjonujące do łączników meblowych. „aXw Control RecyclatePilot” zintegrowany z systemem sterowania Gestica zapewnia stabilną masę wtrysku, wyrównując wahania między materiałami lub partiami.

75th year of training

On 2 September 2024, a total of 75 trainees and students from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) began their professional careers at Arburg. They were welcomed by Steffen Kroner, the new Managing Director Finance, Controlling, IT and HR Management, and by Training Manager Michael Vieth, whose first working day at Arburg was exactly 40 years ago.

ALBIS for extrusion and injection molding

As one of the world’s leading distributors of technical plastics, ALBIS will be showcasing solutions from its extensive product portfolio at Fakuma 2024. This year, the company will be placing a special focus on extrusion applications at its booth in Hall B4, Stand 4206, in addition to its emphasis on sustainable product solutions.

arburgSOLUTIONworld: Consulting, solution expertise

At Fakuma 2024 in Friedrichshafen, Arburg (hall A3, stand 3101) will once again be offering an interactive exhibition area: the striking arburgSOLUTIONworld brings together Arburg's comprehensive consulting and solution expertise in all aspects of plastics processing, and is a space where trade visitors can obtain individual answers to their questions on key topics of the future. Arburg experts will be on hand to offer advice at six stations around the four-metre-high LED column. There will also be an interesting new exhibition wall with an integrated "transparent" machine, where the company's digital products and services will be brought to life.

i-mold: Two Decades in Injection Mold Making

It’s now two years since i-mold was set up as a separate, independent supplier to injection mold makers. In fact, it was twenty years ago that Managing Director Andy Walter started building i-mold’s now global reputation as a supplier to injection mold makers from the company’s first base in Brensbach in the Odenwald, a low mountain range in the center of Germany. i mold’s primary focus is on the in-house development and manufacture of tunnel gate inserts (TGI). Another string to its bow is the distribution of Heatlock hot runner systems, Nanomold coatings and gate adjusters. Since August 2023, i-mold has been enjoying its spacious new premises in Michelstadt, still in the same region, where there is plenty of room for future expansion.

555th Allrounder for Hongfa

The number five is lucky in China, standing for the five blessings of wealth, good fortune, longevity, happiness and abundance for which one should strive. In this spirit, the purchase of the 555th Allrounder from Arburg surely means three times the good fortune. Reason enough to mark the official machine handover with high-ranking representatives from long-standing partners Xiamen Hongfa Electroacoustic and Arburg.

Haitian Open House 2024

From 25. – 27. June, Haitian International Germany proudly hosted its annual Open House, welcoming approximately 1,000 visitors over three days. Held at the European Headquarters in Ebermannsdorf, Bavaria, the event has become a major showcase for the entire product range and capabilities of the Haitian Group, attracting interest and customers from all over Europe. This year set a new record for visitor numbers, highlighting the growing interest and appeal of Haitian’s industry solutions.

Focus on new machines and upcoming topics

Arburg will be attending Fakuma 2024 from 15 to 19 October on Stand 3101 in Hall A3 with eleven exhibits, plus seven additional Allrounders on partner stands. The arburgSOLUTIONworld, augmented by a new exhibition wall on digitalisation including a transparent machine, will highlight compelling upcoming topics for customers. The German premiere of the electric Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric in a new design will be another highlight. Impressive applications and innovative processes, for sectors such as medicine, personal care, leisure and additive manufacturing for example, are set to be presented. Arburg will also be getting involved in the "Mould your future" initiative - not only on Careers Friday at the trade fair, but on the Saturday as well.

Efficient processing of solid silicone (HCR)

From 1 to 4 July 2024, Arburg will be presenting its extensive portfolio for elastomer processing at the German Rubber Conference DKT in Nuremberg, Germany. The exhibit at Arburg's stand 327 in hall 9 will produce bottle openers made of solid silicone (HCR, high consistency rubber) for demonstration purposes. For this, the electric machine will be equipped with a material feed in the new M size from partner company ACH Solution.

TOP 700 LSR Dosing System

At NPE 2024, which runs from May 6 to 10 in Orlando, Florida, ELMET premieres its new, ultra-compact TOP 700 dosing system for injection molding liquid silicone rubber (LSR). Newly developed from the ground up, TOP 700, the most compact 20 liter system on the market, meets industry demand for a combination of cost-effectiveness, process-stable efficiency and the smallest possible footprint. Moreover, the TOP 700 provides the same high precision dosing of silicones and additives as Elmet’s flagship TOP 7000 Pro dosing system with its 200 or 20 liter drum size which was launched back in 2021, so ensuring perfect part quality.

Fascinating insights into practice

For the first time, Arburg hosted a meeting of the VDI Expert Committee of the VDI Society of Materials Engineering (VDI-Gesellschaft Materials Engineering) in Lossburg on 11 April 2024. Sharing new and unconventional methods is the aim of the expert group, which has set itself the task of bridging the gap between methods, research, and the application of these methods in industry. At Arburg, the method used for non-destructive testing of materials and components is an industrial computer tomograph.

Allrounder Golden Electric Evo

The Allrounder Golden Electric Evo series, which is celebrating its premiere at Chinaplas 2024, is fully tailored to Asia. The electric machines combine the "Made by Arburg" quality seal known throughout the global market with unbeatable value for money and short delivery times, making the purchase of an Arburg machine easy, quick and cost effective for Asian customers. In action at the trade fair in Shanghai will be an Allrounder 470 E Golden Electric Evo, demonstrating a sophisticated LSR application automated with a Flexlift 10 linear robotic system, also specially designed for Asia.

Allrounder Cube 1800

Innovative cube-mould technology significantly reduces cycle time. This increases productivity and quickly pays for itself despite the higher outlay on the mould. At NPE 2024, an Allrounder Cube 1800 with a clamping force of 1,800 kN will produce two-colour medical caps and demonstrate that a machine with a "compact cube" can significantly reduce unit costs even with smaller output quantities.

Circular economy and mobility

The motto for this year´s trade fair appearance is again "get connected". Besides a wide range of solutions for greater production efficiency and circular economy applications, the Austrian injection moulding machine manufacturer is presenting a global premiere: the WINTEC series, which was specially developed for the Asian market is being expanded to include a new series".

Allrounder 1600 T

The combination of rotary table machine and automated parts handling produces a high-end application that is extremely attractive for many industries. At Chinaplas 2024, a turnkey system based around an Allrounder 1600 T will attract the attention of interested parties from the mobility sector in particular. An upstream stamping unit with conveyor system is integrated in the production cell. Parts handling is performed by a six-axis robotic system.

Allrounder More

A perfect example for the efficient production of high-quality plastic parts using injection moulding is a turnkey system based around an Allrounder More 2000. With the "two-component eyeglasses" application, Arburg (stand W 3743) will be demonstrating at NPE 2024 its renowned wide-ranging expertise in multi-component injection moulding, LSR processing, automation and networked production. Exciting for trade visitors: At the partner stands of Kistler (W3321), Shin-Etsu (S26055) and Adler (S31151), further components will be manufactured so that the eyeglasses can be supplemented with temples, lanyard and case.

Arburg: European premiere in Poland

For four days, it is the Polish place to be if you have anything to do with plastics. Kielce, located roughly halfway between Warsaw and Krakow, is hosting the 28th Plastpol from 21 to 24 May 2024. Arburg will be taking part again in 2024 – and how! For the first time in Europe, the company will be presenting its latest “treasure” to trade visitors, the Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric, just a few days after its world premiere at NPE in Orlando, Florida.

IML application for medical technology

While in-mould labelling (IML) is standard for packaging products, this process is still rarely used in the medical industry. Using a centrifuge tube plus label made of PP mono-material as an example, Arburg will be presenting a sustainable IML application with high repetition accuracy and added value for the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries at NPE 2024. The ready-to-use product is manufactured in a fast, space-saving and cost-efficient way using a turnkey system centred around an electric Allrounder, without any additional hygiene risks.
