Evolution accelerator for plastics
Making new technology possible and creating real added value - that is the goal of the LEHVOSS Group. Concrete product ideas are just as much a focus as sustainability and tangible profitability. At the FAKUMA, the Hamburg-based company will present numerous application examples that go beyond the limits of what was previously feasible.
Circular Additive Manufacturing
To make 3D printing more sustainable, LEHVOSS Group, a global material compounder operating on high-performance materials for 3D printing under the brand name LUVOCOM® 3F, Drywise a branded product of Thougth3D, also known in 3D printing for its Magigoo branded products, and UltiMaker, the global leader in professional 3D printing have partnered up with Aquafil, an Italian pioneer of the circular economy. The aim of this partnership is to bring to the market a circular PA6 material, that is manufactured from ECONYL® and renewable resources and that can itself be recycled at the end of its useful life into new raw material.
Compounding technical center
After extensive construction work in its innovation center, the LEHVOSS Group has put another compounding plant into operation at its Hamburg location. The twin-screw extruder used was tailored to the requirements by the manufacturer KraussMaffei Extrusion GmbH. For the development of innovative plastic compounds, recyclates, concentrates, additives and hotmelts, the high-temperature plant is equipped with various side extruders and dosing. A wide range of raw materials such as granulates, fibers, flakes, powder and liquids can be metered. Newly developed screws with a special design for an adapted and optimized melt preparation are also used. This makes it possible to produce, among other things, highly filled, for example highly conductive, plastics.
Alpha Calcit and Lehmann&Voss&Co.
The focal point of the agreement, which applies to the DACH region, is the ALFRIMAL® product line, Alpha Calcit's aluminium hydroxide (ATH)-based flame retardant.
JEC World 2022 – LEHVOSS Group
LUVOGARD HF P70 is a clear, liquid, halogen free flame retardant for thermoset and thermoplastic resin applications. It exhibits the unique property of extremely low water solubility that allows for excellent out-door weatherability. It does not decompose to halogenated products, nor does it emit irritating smoke or odors upon decomposition. LUVOGARD HF P70 also exhibits unique synergistic properties when combined with other flame-retardants. It is used to reduce or maybe even completely substitute the ATH amount.
Flame-retardant HT polyamide for 3D printing
LUVOCOM 3F PAHT® is a high-temperature polyamide product line specially designed for extrusion-based 3D printing such as FFF. It has enhanced printability and a similar mechanical performance to a PA6 but exhibits lower water absorption and higher temperature resistance.
Cleaning respiratory masks in the dishwasher?
The market for professional respiratory masks has been emptied by the Covid-19 pandemic and remains so. This is resulting in some very creative solutions; masks for the weekly farmers’ market are been sewn together at home from old T-shirts. In order to maintain production in industry, however, more professional solutions are required – suitable for implementation at short notice now that industry is resuming production.
