The interpack 2023 was the first trade fair of the packaging industry in Europe completely without travel restrictions. Windmöller & Hölscher draws a positive balance: The change in the packaging industry increases the demand for innovative machines. This offers market opportunities for the technology leader W&H. Sustainability was the biggest driver, combined with digitalization and the continuing drive for efficiency.

The interpack 2023 will be held at the Fairground Düsseldorf from May 4-10, 2023. W&H and its subsidiary GARANT will present new machine technologies and packaging solutions for sustainable flexible packaging on 160m² in Hall 12 at Booth A39.

Sustainable flexible packaging
Sustainability is an important, if not the most important driver in the flexible packaging market. Together with partners, the machine builder and specialist for the flexible packaging market W&H developed a whole spectrum of example products that are either fully recyclable or contain recycled material. The sample products include monomaterial laminates, films with recycled material and a high-barrier film, which uses water-soluble intermediate layers to separate incompatible materials.
DIE CONTROL WIZARD from W&H
The DIE CONTROL WIZARD (DCW) is a new automation module developed by the machine manufacturer Windmöller & Hölscher for the FILMEX II cast film line. With the DCW width and thickness changes are possible in the shortest possible time during production. The process is fully automated. Manual adjustment of the dies is no longer necessary. The result: both changeover time and scrap are reduced by up to 70 percent.
