Recycling rigid polyurethane and GFRP composites

At JEC World 2026 (Paris Nord Villepinte, March 10 to 12), CANNON will present its revolutionary approach to recycling polyurethane (PU) and PU-glass fiber composites (GFRPs). The process has been developed in close cooperation with PU processor MAP S.p.A. and the University of Bergamo, with co-funding from the Italian strategic plan for the EU recovery fund NextGenerationEU. Named POSSIBLE, for “PrOduce SuStainabLE Industrial Bodies,” the project has laid the groundwork for PU and GFRPs end-of-life recycling and reuse, successfully demonstrating that ground foam and granulated parts can be used as secondary reinforcement materials in new composite formulations.

Polykemi, Rondo Plastt, Scanfill receive ISCC PLUS

Recently, Polykemi, Rondo Plast, and Scanfill had their ISCC PLUS certifications for recycled mass-balanced plastic raw materials confirmed. The certifications apply to their facilities in Ystad, Sweden, giving all of Europe access to certified high-quality recycled plastic materials. The certification process has been an essential step in the ongoing development towards increased sustainability and reduced carbon footprint.

Post-consumer recyclates for automotive applications

TechnoCompound GmbH, Bad Sobernheim, and RE Plano GmbH, Lünen, a subsidiary of REMONDIS Recycling, have agreed to intensify their cooperation in the use of post-consumer recyclates (PCR) for automotive applications. This is being done against the backdrop of the numerous EU regulations that are currently being discussed and have already been passed regarding the sustainability of companies and products, including the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive.

Flood protection made from recycled plastic

Danish Urban Water Retention (UWR) developed an innovative modular system, assembled like Legos, to manage stormwater and prevent flooding in urban settings. The material used in the modules is a customized recycled PP from Polykemi and Rondo Plast, developed to meet tough specifications and enhance the product's sustainability profile. The system won an award in its category at the 2025 Aquatech Innovation Awards in Amsterdam.

Lindner Washtech: New Leadership Team

In the autumn of 2013, Harald Hoffmann together with Manuel Lindner, owner of the Lindner Group, founded Lindner Washtech. Hoffmann’s vision of designing complete solutions for processing plastics – initially under his sole leadership – led to the company becoming one of the key stakeholders in plastics recycling, and to a partnership with the Erema Group since 2023. In January 2025, Georg Krenn took on the sole management of Lindner Washtech. Harald Hoffmann remains a permanent part of the company, contributing his expertise in the role of Senior Advisor Global Sales.

Arburg wins three "Gold" and one "Silver" award

Arburg with its sister companies AMKmotion and ARBURGadditive were nominated in four categories in the "Product of the Year 2025" competition organized by the trade publications "Kunststoff Magazin" and "Industrial Production". Over 3,300 readers voted and gave the Arburg Group's products excellent ratings: First place went to the Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric in the Production category, the "aXw Control RecyclatePilot" control function in the Peripherals category and the ihD5 servo inverter in the Drive Technology category. In addition, grippers that were 3D printed on demand came second in the Workplace and Equipment category.

At the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE), taking place on April 1-2, 2025, in Amsterdam, RIGK, its subsidiaries plastship GmbH, Hannawald Plastik GmbH, and its certification division PlastCert will focus on comprehensive solutions for the circular economy.
